Hello everyone and welcome to our first blog post at Medicine Today. We will be discussing:
What Exactly is the COVID-19 Vaccine and How Does it Work?
The vaccine has one main component which is the messenger RNA (mRNA), once injected it can provide cells with instructions on how to make an S protein harmless. The S protein is the structure of a Coronavirus bacteria. For the vaccine to work, one has to be given 2 injections 28 days apart. In short, "the vaccination works by teaching your immune system how to recognize and fight the virus" as CDC asserted.
